The Women's Missionary Union (WMU) of New Sandy Creek sets the pace for missions outreach for our church. The Baptist Women, also known as the Marguerite Stevens Group, and the Baptist Young Women, known as the Libby Senter Group, provide many opportunities for ministry and service, locally, statewide, nationally and internationally. The New Sandy Creek WMU also joins with the WMU of the Cullom Baptist Association to participate in Medical-Dental Ministry efforts, and an annual Operation We Care outreach project. Within our church, the WMU sponsors missions education and training through Mission Friends, for preschool and kindergarten children. The Mission Friends regularly each Wednesday evening following our weekly fellowship meal. The WMU of New Sandy Creek is one of the key driving forces behind our missions endeavors. Our ladies truly have a heart for missions and ministry and consistently reflect the love of God in their efforts. Taking the lead in promoting special times of financial support for various ministries of North Carolina Baptists, the North American Mission Board and the International Mission Board, the WMU faithfully supports these efforts through an effective prayer ministry and an emphasis on educating the church family with regard to missions efforts of the Southern Baptist Convention and the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina. The goal of WMU is to give women an opportunity to grow in their relationship with the Lord, and to be actively involved in the global mission of His Church. Ultimately the purpose of WMU activities is to spread the Gospel so that those who are lost can have the opportunity to respond to the Lord's gift of salvation. All the women of New Sandy Creek are encouraged to take an active role in the work of the WMU, having an opportunity to grow in their faith and allow God to fulfill His purpose in their lives.
