The Journey Acronym

Journeys begin in many different places, our must begin with ruthless honesty about our condition of desperate need. (Step 1)

Our next task is to acknowledge that our lives are out of control and that we need to turn to Christ for forgiveness, love, and strength. (Steps 2 & 3)

Using our reliance on God, we make a "searching and fearless inventory of our lives, we confess our faults to God, to ourselves, and to another person. (Steps 4 & 5)

Resting in the strength of God, we trust Him to give us direction and strength to change the defects in our character, so that we might walk in a manner worthy of Him. (Steps 6 & 7)

Next we experience the habit of repentance, we make restitution to those we have harmed, and we learn to live with a clear conscience towards God and people. (Steps 8 & 9)

Each day we continue to acknowledge our daily dependence on God as we seek to live in humility and honesty. (Steps 10 & 11)

Yearning to see others drawn to Christ and set free from sin, we accept the privilege and responsibility to pass on the lessons we have learned to others who need to follow in the process of repentance. (Step 12)
